Refined flaxseed oil

Flaxseed oil is a traditional wood preservative. It significantly hardens the surface, protects against moisture, enhances the grain, and is also suitable for indoor use (basements, living spaces).

Uses:

  • wood (especially interiors, basements, furniture)
  • metal (anti-corrosion)
  • stone, concrete
  • additive for mortars (approx. 1% – increases water resistance)

Tung oil (Chinese wood oil)

Tung oil is one of the most durable natural oils. It creates a very strong, flexible, and water-resistant finish that does not yellow. Just 3–4 coats are sufficient, whereas linseed oil typically requires 10–20.

Advantages of tung oil

  • fast drying (1–2 days)
  • long-term resistance to water, alcohol, and food acids
  • significantly more resistant to mold than linseed oil
  • also suitable for children’s toys and surfaces that come into contact with food
  • also used for coating wooden boats

Linseed varnish

is a natural, heat-treated linseed oil (often with siccatives for faster drying) used for deep wood impregnation, as a paint binder, or for modifying putty. It penetrates deep into the pores, protects against moisture, allows the wood to breathe, and highlights its grain. It dries in about 24 hours; full curing takes 1–2 weeks.

Usage:

  • Wood protection: Ideal for priming absorbent surfaces (wood, cork, unglazed tiles) both indoors and outdoors.
  • Application: Apply with a brush or cloth; after approx. 20 minutes, wipe off any unabsorbed oil to prevent shiny spots from forming.
  • Properties: Enhances the wood grain, which may develop a slight “honey” (yellow) tint over time.

FSG Castor Oil

Castor oil No. 1, also known as FSG (First Special Grade), is obtained from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. An oil composed of more than 90% ricinoleic acid, characterized by a hydroxyl group (-OH), is extracted from these seeds. This group gives it specific properties used in many applications.

Applications:

  • Lubricants
  • Raw materials for polyurethane resins
  • Cosmetics
  • Raw materials for polyamides
  • Plasticizers

Dehydrated castor oil

Dehydration makes FSG castor oil semi-dry through the formation of conjugated double bonds.

Application:

Raw material for alkyd, epoxy, and acrylic resins
